The compound window consists of one frame and two sashes that are placed one behind the other, and share a common pivot point. The sashes are detachable, but connected to each other.

This way they can be opened for cleaning. It can be opened and closed like a single window. In the triple glazed version, the outer sash consists of insulating glass, the inner sash of simple glass.

Compound windows especially deliver in the areas of sound and thermal insulation. The air space between the two sashes creates a highly effective barrier through its cushion of air.
