For more than 100 years box windows have been considered the tried and tested method of window construction. They are proof of high artistry and workmanship of past generations and represent a valuable cultural heritage.

Their high functionality, performance characteristics, and aesthetic value speak for a continued preservation.

The box window consists of two complete single windows, separate (or common) frames, which are connected with an additional panel. Both sashes are independent of each other and possess separate locking mechanisms.

Box windows are custom built, and are required for highest sound insulation. A big space between two separated window sashes is a distinct feature of a box window.

Since modern windows possess such high performance values, the need for box windows seems only sensible in extreme cases, like in the vicinity of an airport, in urban areas, with historical preservation, etc.
